Best Gaming Laptop, Desktop, Home PC Specifications. Tips Gaming PC or Laptop Configurations.

Consequently, if you are planning for a Gaming Laptop or Gaming Home PC, welcome to the Gamers’ club!

I have been a voracious gamer and still am at 32. I am sure I can go without food for a day, but not without a game! Once upon a time, I felt that the specification of the desktop I was using wasn’t a match for the gaming devil in me. I ventured to explore all available options, to conclude that my Home PC needs an overall. A Gaming Laptop was also on the list.

Then came the hardest part of all, to gather information on the specification for the system and to decide which would be the best.

I had and still have only limited knowledge on computer hardware. For this reason, I went around digging few friends for ideas on the best configuration for the gaming system in my plan. There were tons of inputs from them, which I jotted down. Next, I hit the Internet, the ultimate source of information and collected even more configurations. It took nearly a week to have all my data ready and take a decision, picking clues from everywhere. Considering the trouble I went through and the days that I lost on searching, I as a "Good Samaritan" wanted to make it easy for my gaming brethren to obtain at least few good configurations, fast. I have attempted in this article to provide you some configuration tit-bits that I feel will be quite helpful to a Gamer.

Basic requirements for a gaming system whether a desktop or laptop are,

1. A fast and powerful Processor:

The processor should be comfortable enough to handle games, which as you know are Graphic Intense. If your’s is a laptop then consider the battery life too. Games are power hungry. If you aren’t that serious about a little extra load then have a spare battery in-hand for the laptop. My suggestion would be to go in for a dual core processor, having facility to add 2 or more graphic cards.

2. Heavy RAM:

Go for at least 2 GB and settle down on it, once for all. Most of the gaming applications today and in future may not need anything more than that. If you have a heavier pocket, then plan for 4 GB RAM, which is at the higher end.

3. Powerful Video Card:

Don’t settle for a simple graphic card. Remember, you will never repent for buying one at the higher end. For a serious gamer good viewing experience is not a luxury, but a basic need. Go for NVIDIA or ATI graphics cards, which have wonderful memory handling capacity.

4. Impressive Sound Card:

Best sound is another basic need for a serious gamer. Go for 3D soundcards, one like Creative SoundBlaster with multi channel sound or Yamaha cound cards. Without proper sound, even the best of the games will suck. You do have a choice here. You can either opt for either an internal one or an external one. You need to avoid going for an external one for your laptop, if not you kidly be ready to lug extra baggage.

5. Huge & Quick Hard Drive:

Bigger the hard drive, more games you can have. Faster the Hard Drive, better the gaming experience.

6. Wide HD Monitor:

If it’s a home PC then go in for the biggest monitor in the market. If it’s a laptop then settle down for something at 15’’ or more. Games on tiny monitor suck!

Keeping the above factors in mind, I have listed 3 best configurations available in the market. The configurations can be mixed and matched to customize the home PC. As for the laptops, there is sure to be at least one, matching these specifications in the market. Be aware that, there could have been lot of change in configurations and prices now, so, I advice that you check for an updated info on the same, on-line.
