Secrets of Beautiful Healthy Hair. How to Get Long Beautiful Hair?

My wife recently complained that her hair has lost it’s luster suddenly, and demanded some ideas on how she can improve her hair’s health to re-establish it’s luster. Though, I was able to provide her few tips, I promised her that I would visit a doctor friend of mine to take some more from him. After a constant nagging from her through the week, I did visit my doctor friend. He was very happy to help me out and provided me credible secrets of “Beautiful Healthy Hair”.

Do you know beautiful hair is an indicator of your overall health? Dull and breaking hair is a certain indicator of health problems. Abnormal hair fall and adamant dandruff demands that you need to visit a doctor. Maintaining hair is hard, and you would have realized it by now. However the chore gets easier if you follow few simple hair care routines. So here are few simple hair care rules that would make your hair a target of admiration and wows from all sides. Read on!

1. Clean Hair:

First step is to keep the hair clean and neat. But, this doesn’t mean that one has to keep cleaning the hair several times a day. Overdoing the hair cleaning can however be damaging. The scalp naturally produces an oily substance called Sebum, which coats the hair to help it retain moisture thus keeping it looking shiny and soft.

Shampoos are designed to remove oil, grease, and dirt from hair, scalp and strip dead cells off the scalp. Nevertheless, shampooing the hair excessively will remove the protective Sebum thus exposing the hair follicles to the vagaries of nature. Thus, it’s important to choose a shampoo that is formulated for regular daily use.

If one prefers not to shampoo everyday, alternatively one can use just water to wash the dirt away. Lest, if you are the one who vouches for shampooing everyday, then it’s suggested that you apply some leave-on conditioner to the hair after wash. Remember, shampoo is never a cause for hair loss, but using a mild one will help the hair to be additionally healthy.

2. Brushing and Combing Hair:

Avoid combing hair when it’s wet. Wet hair tends to break if combed. Run only your fingers through the wet hair to straighten them until only little moisture remains for you to start styling.

Brush the hair and stroke the scalp lightly as soon as you get out of bed in the morning to increase blood flow to the hair. It also distributes the natural oils across the scalp. Once again, overdoing the brushing will stimulate Sebaceous glands excessively and you would end up having an oily hair through the day. Avoid using force while brushing, always brush with gentle outward strokes.

3. Oil:

People have never realized the magic of oil on hair. It’s the world’s only hair and scalp conditioner. Even though applying oil to hair is avoided on belief that it attracts grime and dust, regular hair oiling is a must. One should apply oil to hair and scalp and leave it on for 4 to 24 hours, preferably, and then wash before stepping out of the house. Stepping out of house with oil still on will attract excessive dust that may clog the pores. Remember to massage oil into scalp, slowly, using the balls of your fingers, without generating excess pressure.

4. Food:

Healthy hair is the reflection of your holistic health. Remember to eat food rich in protein, vitamins and minerals, especially food rich in Silica, Iron and Zinc. These minerals are key players in keeping hair healthy. Consume good amount of food like eggs, meat, Soya, milk, fish, vegetables, fruits, and many more. Make it a point to consume beets, green leafy vegetables, broccoli, carrots, and radish. Fruits like berries, citrus fruits, melons, grapes and small amount of raisins also help in having healthy hair.

5. Quit Hair Killers:

Quit consuming excess alcohol, caffeine and aerated drinks, which weaken, hasten hair loss. In addition, stop smoking, as it is one of the major causes for hair loss.

6. Regular Hair Checkup:

It is highly recommended that you go in for regular hair checkup as it’s unhealthiness could be a sign of resident diseases like,

-Thyroid Problems.
-Parathyroid problem.
-Addison disease.
-Anemia.
-Hormonal Imbalances.

Wish you a beautiful hair! All the best!

Great tips! Keeping a hair routine is definitely the big first step towards hair health.

I would also say, in addition to the general stuff you mentioned, that it's important to "diagnose" your hair type and react accordingly. Different hair types can take different levels of care (and abuse) so it's important that your wife doesn't overdo it for her hair type (for example, if she has naturally oily hair, it might be better to skip the oil treatments).

:)) ;)) ;;) :D ;) :p :(( :) :( :X =(( :-o :-/ :-* :| 8-} :)] ~x( :-t b-( :-L x( =))
